PHILOSOPHY:-

                  The Philosophy of Dr. Kolpe Nursing College (B.Sc Nursing)  Incorporates with Philosophy of MUHS, Nashik. Maharashtra University of Health Sciences believes in systematic teaching, training and research in Modern Medical Sciences and uniformity in various courses in medical and Allied health sciences. The philosophy of the B. Sc. Nursing is incorporated by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences at par of Indian Nursing Council. Indian Nursing Council believes that, Health is a state of well-being that enables a person to lead a psychologically, socially and economically productive life. Health is a right of all the people. Individuals, families and communities has a responsibility towards maintaining their health. Nursing contributes to the health services in vital and significant way in the health care delivery system. It recognizes national health goals and is committed to participate in the implementation of National Health policies and programmes. It aims at identifying health needs of the people , planning and providing quality care in collaboration with other health professionals and community groups. Scope of nursing practice encompasses provision of promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects of care to people across their life span in wide variety of health care settings. Practice of Nursing is based upon application of basic concepts and principles derived from the physical, biological, behavioral sciences, medicine and nursing. Nursing is based on values of caring, and aims to help individuals to attain independence in self-care. It necessitates development of compassion and understanding of human behavior among its practitioners to provide care with respect and dignity and protect the rights of individuals and groups. Undergraduate nursing program is broad based education within an academic framework, specifically directed to the development of critical thinking skills, competencies & standards required for practice of professional nursing and midwifery as envisaged in National Health Policy 2002. The teachers have the responsibility to be role models and create learning environment that enables students to acquire inquiry driven, self directed learning and foster an attitude of life long learning. Under graduate nursing education program prepares its graduates to become exemplary citizen by adhering to code of ethics and professional conduct at all times in fulfilling personal, social and professional obligations so as to respond to national aspirations.

AIMS:-

         The aim of the undergraduate nursing program is : Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives at basic level in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services. Prepare nurses who can make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor and manager in a clinical / public health setting.

OBJECTIVES:-

                      On completion of B.Sc. Nursing degree programme the graduates will be able to:

  1. Apply knowledge from physical, biological and behavioral sciences, medicine,     including alternative systems and nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities.

2. Demonstrate understanding of life style and other factors, which affect health of individuals and groups.

3. Provide nursing care based on steps of nursing process in collaboration with the individuals and groups

4. Demonstrate critical thinking skill in making decisions in all situations in order to provide quality care.

4. Utilise the latest trends and technology in providing health care.

5. Provide promotive, preventive and restorative health services in line with the national health policies and programs.

6. Practice within the framework of code of ethics and professional conduct and acceptable standards of practice within the legal boundaries.

7. Communicate effectively with individuals and groups and members of the health team in order to promote effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.

8. Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in clinical/ community health settings.

9. Participate effectively as members of the health team in health care delivery system.

10. Demonstrate leadership and managerial skills in clinical / community health settings.

11. Conduct need based research studies in various settings and utilize the research findings to improve the quality of care.

 

 

12. Demonstrate awareness, interest and contribute towards advancement of self and of the profession.

Report on Freshers day Celebration

Objectives:

Summary:

         The Dr. Kolpe Nursing College organized a sumptuous fresher’s welcome party for the batch of 2018-2022. Aptly called Fresher’s Party, the purpose of this event is that every “fresher” of Dr. Kolpe feels like an integral part of the Dr. Kolpe family and readies to take on challenge of the year ahead. The party organized on Thursday November 15 2019, manifested youth and enthusiasm at its full flow. With pulsating ambience, flashing lights and foot tapping music, the party began with a blast. As the mercury began to rise, the dance floor was left open for some unbridled energy. There was no dress code for the students. Fresher’s party is all about making the best start to the new academic year.

Mr. Nikhil Kalpund and Ms. Priyanka Wakade were selected as the Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher of the Fresher Party.

Dr. Kolpe was the chief guest of this prime occasion. The main aim of this functionis to give a warm welcome to the new comers. Such parties are not only building their confidence but also add creativity to their levels.

Report on lamp Lighting &Oath Taking Ceremony

Summary:

         The lamp Lighting ceremony for the 3rdbatch of B.Sc Nursing Students of Dr.Kolpe Nursing College was held on 12/01/2019 at 9.00am.

The lamp lighting ceremony is an auspicious occasion in every nurse’s life held in reverence to Florence Nightingale, the lady with the lamp. Nursing is the only profession that follows lamp lighting ceremony. Light, as a symbol of knowledge, removes ignorance and is a lasting wealth by which lots could be achieved. The lamp lighting ceremony formally recognises the student’s entry into the nursing profession.

Dr. Prakash J. Kolpe President, Gramin Samajsevi Sanstha’s, Kolpewadi was the chief guest of the programme. In his address, Dr.Kolpe spoke on nursing leadership with special emphasis on patient safety, dug adverse effects, infection control measures and quality and safety in patient care. All 29 students were rendered into the profession by taking the nurses oath delivered by Dr. Rajashree Kolpe.

 

 

SPORTS DAY CELEBRATION REPORT

SUMMARY:

On the occasion of lamp lighting & oath taking ceremony on 12/01/2019, Dr. Kolpe Nursing College, Kolpewadi was conducted Sports day celebration.

The aim behind holding the event was to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship and fondness for sports in students. The day was fun filled fest of laughter, energy and delight as around students presented and participated in various activities under the eager eyes President Dr.Kolpe was the chief guest of this occasion.

The event began with the March pass performed by the 3rd year B.B.Sc Nursing students. It was followed by a flag hoisting ceremony. The sports meet was declared open formally by a simple but heartfelt dedication to the desire for peace. A melodious welcome song laid the ground for other lovely performance. Prize distribution services were held at the conclusion of each event. The event concluded with fun race held for teaching and non-teaching staffs.

In Dr. Prakash Kolpe concluding speech, praised the endeavours of the college. He highlighted the necessity of sportsmanship in a world riddled with rat races for glory. The principal also thanked parents for their support and encouragement that lent charm to the event.

Report on Nurses day Celebration

SUMMARY:

          International Nurses Day (IND) is celebrated every year all around the world on 12th of may to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Florence Nightingale and to mark the nurse’s contributions towards people’s health.

         The faculty and students of Dr. Kolpe Nursing College (B.Sc Nursing), Kolpewadi celebrated the International Nurse’s day from May 9 to 12, 2018. On the concluding day, speech was held on the theme “A Voice to lead: Health is a human right” at Multipurpose Hall, Kolpewadi.

         A speech was organised for all undergraduate students of Nursing on the opening day as well Dr. Prakash Kolpe Dean, Dr. Kolpe Nursing College spoke on the topic ‘How to face the Interview’, Dr. Dhananjay Kolpe Secretory, delivered a session on Professionalism and Workplace etiquette. And also, prize was distributed to winners of various events held.

         Nurses plays a vital role in patients care and have a major about their role. The Principal Mr. Ajun Sontakke expressed his experience on the development of Dr. Kolpe Nursing College. Mrs. Patil gave the vote of thanks.
